| Xiangtang-Putian Line Project Received the State Approval |

¡¡¡¡After Xiangtang-Putian line has been listed in the 11th ¡°Five Years Plan¡± of the state, the Ministry of Railways, Jiangxi and Fujian province promoted supernormally the necessary preparations for the project depending on launching construction for controlling project in 2006 and completing the project in 2010. On the 25th August, the State Development and Reform Commission studied and approved the project proposal of Xiangtang-Putian railway which symbolizes the state approves the project formally.
¡¡¡¡Xiangtang-Putian railway starts from Nanchang junction station, comes through Linchuan, Nancheng and Nanfeng county then goes through Mountain Wuyi to Fujian province, comes through Jianning, Taining, Jiangle, Shaxian, Youxi county then forks near Yongtai county. Meanwhile, it introduces into Putian and Fuzhou junction terminal. The whole railway is up to 640 KM, the construction standard is grade 1, double lines and electrified railway, the designed speed is 200 Km/hour, the estimating total investment is 42.4 billion RMB. The line meets Hangzhou-Changchun and Peking-Kowloon line to the west, connects Yingtan-Xiamen Railway in the middle, connects coastal region to the east. The railway is the important passage between Jiangxi and Fujian province, and also is the fast passage of our Central and Western regions lead to the Fujian Province. The project is very important for perfecting our railway network especially to Southeast of Jiangxi province, for strengthening contact between Jiangxi and Southeast of Fujian, for promoting Jiangxi opening and local economy development along the railway, for three direct links Taiwan and motherland unification. From Nanchang & North area of China (Northwest, North China, central China) to southern Fujian (Xiamen), comparing with Zhejiang-Jiangxi (Anhui-Jiangxi) and Yingtan-Xiamen lines, the distance will be shorten about 117 Km, comparing with Peking-Kowloon, the distance will be shorten about 222 Km. |
